Laura + Nick | Arts Ballroom - Philadelphia, PA Wedding Photographer

Laura + Nick had a beautiful wedding at the Arts Ballroom in downtown Philadelphia.  We arrived just before they were dressed to photograph a few details at the stunning Hyatt at The Bellevue and I immediately knew it was going to be an amazing day.  If there is one thing that steals my heart it is a timeless wedding.  Laura + Nick planned all the classic details right down to his bow tie and peonies in her bouquet.  And not only were their details perfect, but they have the warmest friends and family, which always makes a great wedding even better.

As I stood beside Nick waiting for Laura to walk down the stairs for their first look and we passed the time with conversation, I couldn't help but think what a good guy he is.  From the moment I saw him that day he wanted to make sure everything was just perfect for Laura.  And when he saw her, his face lit up like I've never seen.  On the same hand, Laura wears her heart on her sleeve (a girl after my own heart!!) and she couldn't hold back the tears as we got her ready to see Nick.  I was literally beyond excited for them to see each other and begin what I knew was going to be the best day.

And, it didn't disappoint; every aspect of their day was flawless.  Instead of focusing on a million ideas/details, they focused on each other and their love.  The ceremony, the toasts, the first was all so thoughtfully executed and I could see that they full absorbed themselves in their day.  As they continued dancing the night away with their loved ones and we packed up our gear, I couldn't help but look over my shoulder and take in the whole scene; it was magical.

Laura + Nick, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sharing your day with us.  I could only wish for weddings like yours every weekend and we are so lucky to have experienced your love.  Congratulations and best wishes on a lifetime of love, laughter, and happiness.

Laura, you are one of the most beautiful brides
Meanwhile, Aaron was with Nick as he put on the final touches
I'm infatuated with architecture and everything old.  The Bellvue at Hyatt did not disappoint, it was full of amazing details.  We could've stayed there all day and photographed portraits inside :)

Their bridal party had to sneak a peek
Seriously, do you see the railing and plaster work on the ceiling?  Amazing.
It's not a Philadelphia wedding without a shot in front of City Hall
Since they decided to have a first look we were able to take care of all the bridal party and bride/groom portraits before the ceremony.  This always makes for a more relaxed day.
The Arts Ballroom is a beautiful venue
She even cries pretty.  No ugly cry here!
One of my favorite images of the day.
After the ceremony, the guests enjoyed cocktail hour while Laura + Nick stole a few minutes to themselves to relish in their newlywed status.  I love that they did that and they'll probably never forget that extremely-rare-on-a-wedding-day alone time.  Oh, and I love that they used one of their engagement photos on their beer :)
Stephen Starr Events catered the reception and we were in complete awe of their impeccable service, attention to detail and quick turnaround of the room.  There was not a piece of silverware or glass out of place.  If you're planning a Philadephila wedding, look no further..  Oh, and yes, the food was ridiculously amazingly good.  And we're pretty big foodies.
So even though I already thought I died and went to amazing wedding heaven, they choreographed their first dance.  It doesn't get any more classy than that!  Loved every second of it!
 Wisconsin and proud of it.
