Katie + Greg: Married | Philadelphia, PA Wedding

When Katie first contacted me about her and Greg's wedding on New Year's Eve, I jumped out of my chair with excitement at the thought of shooting in center city Philly, one of my fav cities as you all know, on such an exciting night.  Katie + Greg are such a unique and special couple.  They think (way) outside the box and didn't want a typical traditional wedding.  And I love them even more for that.  Their wedding wasn't about formalities or hours of portraits, they wanted to celebrate their union in front of their closest friends + family in a fun environment.  For their venue, they chose Greg's former employer's offices.  Sounds boring, right - an office?  No, not even a little.  This is an ad company, first of all, so you have tons of creatives in a space who have decorated the office in an eclectic manner.  Second, it's  located on the 25th floor with stunning views of the entire city and City Hall.  We were within a stone throw of the William Penn statue.  Yeah, it was pretty amazing.

Katie + Greg really wanted us to focus on the day and not so much on formal, posed portraits.  So that's just what we did.  We still photographed a few details and, of course, family portraits, but we really tried to focus on the feel of the evening.  This was our first wedding like that and our first wedding entirely at night.  Although it was a little challenging, it was well worth it and not a wedding that I'll soon forget.  And, as a side note, Katie + Greg were an extremely easy couple to work with.  They are so incredibly sweet and loving towards one another, they made our job that much easier!

Congratulations again, Katie + Greg, we wish you nothing less than all the happiness and years of love that you deserve.  Thank you again for allowing us to be a part of this beautiful night!

The attention to detail on Katie's dress was breathtaking.  It looked even more beautiful on!
I love this idea and it was a first for me.  Katie wanted her lingerie photographed - I think that's so special and such a perfect reminder of the entire wedding day (and night).
A couple doors over Greg was prepping as well.
Such a sweet moment between sisters.
I'm so in love with this next series of shots.  Katie chose to walk from the hotel to the venue and there was so much excitement and energy in the air.  It reflects not only the night, but the city as well.
This was such an incredible moment.  Katie mouthed "I Love You" to her Dad and I was so excited to have witnessed their sweet father/daughter love.
It was a freezing cold evening, but Katie + Greg knew they wanted this specific image overlooking the city.  It turned out beautifully.
 Katie's Dad looks so proud.
I LOVE this shot.  How amazing would it be to have this photo of your Mom and Dad so in love at your wedding?
We were so excited to see another of one our 2014 couples at the wedding!  Julie + Brian's wedding was in September and that's how we met Katie + Greg :)
The evening ended perfectly with a midnight celebration.
